Programmable Terminal Topic: Connect Multiple PLCs to a Single PT

FAQ No. FAQ00165

Question

Is it possible to connect multiple PLCs to a single Programmable Terminal?

Answer

Multiple PLCs cannot be cannot be connected directly to an NT-series PT.

The 1:N NT Link mode allows a single PLC to connect to multiple PTs (PLC:PT = 1:N, where N ≥ 1). It does not support PT:PLC = 1:N connections. Only one PLC can be connected to a PT.

On the other hand, data can be collected from other PLCs through a data link in a network such as Controller Link. The collected information can be transferred to the PT, so data from multiple PLCs can be collected in a single PT indirectly.
