Question
The 61F Floatless Level Controllers
power supply is ON, but the Controller does not operate even though the
liquid level reaches the detection level. What could be causing this
problem?
Answer
Check the following points.
(1) Is there a problem in the wiring between the 61F Controller and
electrodes? (Check for problems such as broken/disconnected wires,
improperly tightened cables, and looseness.)
(2) Was the liquid changed to a different type since the system was
operating normally?
(3) Has an insulating coating (such as oil) formed on the electrodes? Is a
standard sensitivity Controller being used to measure a liquid with a high
specific resistance? If the liquid has a high specific resistance, the
Controller may not operate with standard sensitivity (0 to 4 kΩ operate
resistance).
(4) In this case, use a High-sensitivity Controller (a model with an H
suffix at the end of the model number). Generally, liquids with few
impurities, such as distilled water or purified water, have a high
specific resistance.
Oil cannot be used with the 61F Controllers. Consider using an E7A
Capacitance Level Sensor for these applications.
