Measuring & Monitoring Relay Topic: Calculate Heater Current

FAQ No. FAQ01575

Question

How do you calculate the heater current?

Answer

The current when a malfunction occurs is shown in the following table according to the heater's connection method. Use this for reference when determining the setting value for the operating current.

Table: Ordinary Operation and Malfunction for Single and Three-phase Type

Note: These are the current values when a 200-V, 1-kW heater is used with a single-phase or three-phase model.

* For this connection, run the wires of both ends through the K2CU Heater Element Burnout Detector.
