SCHAUMBURG, IL (March 31, 2003)—Omron Corporation is the recipient of the 2003 Frost & Sullivan Market Engineering Leadership Award for the Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment market. With 12 percent market share in 2002, Omron Corporation retains its overall leadership position of market share in the AOI equipment market. To choose the recipient of the award, Frost and Sullivan analysts evaluated market share, revenue growth rates, profitability, and market and technology innovation.

Omron Corporation’s Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Solder Inspection Systems lead the AOI market with the fastest production speeds available, and by providing easy to read, three-dimensional imagery, and patented Color Highlight technology. Omron has a complete line of AOI systems for solder paste, pre- and post-reflow, using a Windows-based operating system, which blends easily into existing Ethernet systems and is designed to handle multiple machines.
